Living in the post TikTok world is a strange thing for those who remember a time before the clock app. Nowadays, every pop song is engineered for the perfect 15 second snippet that influencers will play over their latest videos, and an alarming number of people we know have started to consider vlogging their every move as a normal and fun thing to do. Also, everybody seems obsessed with buying Shein-lite miracle products from the nebulous online marketplace of the TikTok shop.
For many of us, these cultural advancements are kind of unsettling. However, the genie is out of the bottle now. There's no going back to the way we were before, and that isn't an entirely bad thing. It brings us some entertainment in the form of wild TikTok screenshots, that seem to take stretching the truth to be an Olympic sport. They may be unsettling, but it is still hard to look away.
